Contactless sales - measuring customers

Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, we have developed a workflow that allows you to measure your customers contactlessly, i.e. also via telephone or webcam, and give a bicycle recommendation.

How do I start the workflow?

If you want to install the software again on another computer, look into the INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

Switch on the computer on which the Smartfit software is installed and open the 'Bike Manager' program on your desktop.

Start the workflow for contactless selling via telephone consultation by clicking on the tile   button.

Start the software a few minutes BEFORE the first use in a customer appointment. Customer and bike data will be synchronized with the server and updates will be downloaded if necessary. This can take a few minutes.

2

  Enter customer data

Once you have started the workflow, you must enter relevant customer data. The program saves each input automatically.

Enter the last name and first name of the customer here (mandatory fields).

The remaining fields are optional. It may be helpful to collect the contact details of your customers for further enquiries or services. You can also Assign the customer to a salesperson »
Select the customer's desired bike type as well. This is important as the bike category affects the ergonomic sitting position and the bike recommendation.
The E-Bike switch acts as a filter that hides all non-E-Bikes in the following sequence. This can also be switched again in the later overview page Wheels.

If you want it to go fast, enter only first name, surname and desired bike.

You have the possibility to collect further information from your customers. The more data you enter, the better your customer database is organized. If your customers show concerns: the data is encrypted and secure and will be handled according to the latest privacy policy. Ensure them that their data is safe and only used for individual consultation.

When you're done, tap . How to proceed with the input of body data can be found in the next but one point 4.

How do I manage my customers?

It is really easy to manage your customers once their details are stored in your customer database.

Tap on the customer selection field. A list of all the customers whose details have been saved will open. Use the search function in Customer Quick Selection by entering the name of your customer in the customer selection field.

Incidentally, we have stored a selection of sample customers of varying sizes in your database for you. You can use these to practise bike selection and data interpretation with standard physical dimensions in the software. The sample customers will appear at the top of the selection list. You will find further information on the sample customers   here»

  Record body data

Clicking on the BodyScan button opens the page for manual entry of the customer's body data. Even if you have a Smartfit measuring system with automatic data transfer during the body scan, such as the Smartfit Q1 or Q4, the 1 MIN workflow automatically switches to manual input.

You must therefore enter the measured values in this workflow manually.

STEP 1:

First enter in the uppermost field with a white background the Body height in inches.

A comma separates between centimetres and millimetres, e.g. 180.5 cm.

STEP 2:

As soon as a numerical value for the body height is entered in the field, the values for (1) sternum height, (2) arm length and (3) leg length are calculated by the software (grey-shaded fields above standard).

Calculations are based on the average values for a comparable sized, normally proportioned person from our database. These are therefore standard values.

STEP 3:

You can enter the white fields for (1) sternum height, (2) arm length and (3) leg length either:

(a) manually transfer the calculated average values; or
b) enter the values measured at the customer (possibly +1.5cm).

Whoever works without Smartfit surveying hardware and has measured the inside leg length with the help of a spirit level, a book or similar, must add 1.5cm to this value - e.g. 86.0cm measured >> 87.5cm to be entered. The reason is the higher contact pressure when using a Smartfit range spring.

If you enter different values here than those in the column, the difference from the calculated default values is displayed in the right-hand column. You can see here whether a customer has longer legs than the average person, for example.

Incidentally, we have stored a selection of sample customers of varying sizes in your database for you. You can use these to practise bike selection and data interpretation with standard physical dimensions in the software. The sample customers will appear at the top of the selection list. You will find further information on the sample customers   here»

When you have entered all measured values, the buttons Zur BikeSelection and BikeSearch appear, which open the windows for bike selection.

BikeSelection leads to the page with an overview of all manufacturers and models.

BikeSearch leads to the page on which individual models can be found and selected via a search field.
